i find this website really helpful, i'm sure anybody who's interested to migrate to Australia will agree with me.

I had lodged my application on August 31, 2007 and I had already received the confirmation of receipt on December 14, 2007. until now i haven't received an acknowledgement letter yet. I checked with ASPC and they are acknowledging applications up to August 27, 2007 for the Skilled -independent lodged before Sept 1, 2007. And for the Skilled independent lodged after September 1, some applications are already allocated to case officer.

I would just like to ask how long does it take for the General Skilled Migration to be processed if lodged before September 1, 2007?Does it mean that it is possible for those applicants to be approved earlier if lodged before September 1, 2007 rather than those filed before September 1, 2007.

Thanks a lot,

their will be some factors for the delay of your application:

1) Are you skilled independent in MODL list?
2) Did you fill the forms properly?
3) Did you submit the needed documents as per the check list you submitted?

Acknowledgment letter sent if your application is complete. Delays comes when the applicant could not fulfill the visa requirements.

thank you for your reply.

Yes, I am an accountant and i had been assessed by ICAA as suitable for migration.

I had also filled up the forms properly and submitted the required documents. I had it certified in our country (Philippines).

As I checked with ASPC, they are only acknowledging Aug. 27, 2007.

Rose,

You are an accountant 2211-11 "Skilled Independent" visa Subclass 136 and you are in MODL list.
If you lodge your application before Sep.2007 their will be a delay because DIAC received at that time huge amount of applications. Applicants who lodged their application after Sep.2007 will be processed faster because immigration law changed.
You will receive your acknowledge letter within 40 days from today, and usually comes to your E-Mail address. After that DIAC will allocate a visa officer for your file, and if your file is complete, Visa officer will transfer your file to Australian Embassy in your country for final step "Medical check, finger print, social security insurance, etc...."

Just watch your E-Mail in daily basis.
