Basic Requirements Explanation Documents Required
Complete and sign form 1276. Application for general skilled migration to Australia Print and fillout form 1276
Visa application charge. Fee for application, In general fees are accepted in Australian Embassies in the local currency (For example the Australian Embassy in Cairo accepts the equivalent of the fee in Egyptian Pounds)

Present the form with all your documents plus the fees to the nearest Australian Embassy, they will stamp your application that the fee has been paid in full

Evidence of the main applicant’s age. You must be under 45 and over 18 years of age on the day of making your application. Original copy of birth certificate (and translation in English if the originalbirth certificate is in a different language) or other proof of age
Evidence that the main applicant meets the English language threshold. Valid IELTS test results (Minimum band score of at least six (6) on each of the four (4) components of the IELTS test - Test must have been conducted less than 2 years ago) After taking the IELTS exam from the British Council your results will come out in two weeks time, include the ORIGINAL (i.e. NOT A COPY) results certificate with your documents.
Satisfactory skills assessment for the main applicant’s nominated occupation on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL). You need to obtain a positive skills assessment before you lodge your application for this visa. This is an evaluation of your qualifications to make sure that you are sufficiently qualified for your nominated occupation. If you have been successfully assessed for your occupation you should receive a letter from the assessing body stating that, please include a copy or the original with our application.
Evidence of recent work experience or main applicant has met 2 years study requirement in Australia in the last 6 months.

To meet the recent work experience requirement, you must demonstrate that you have been employed in an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) for 12 of the 24 months immediately before lodging your visa application.

To meet the 2 years study requirement, you must have completed in no less than 16 calendar months either:

  • a single qualification requiring at least two (2) academic years study
    or
  • more than one qualification resulting in a total period of at least two (2) academic years study.

Reference letters on company letterhead stating your title, the exact period of time you've worked, the role and responsibilities, whether the job was contract, full or part time, signed by a manager with reachable phone / fax numbers.

Please note that this information will be verified by the Australian department of immigration via the embassy.

Pay slips should also be included.

Additional evidence for Points Test requirements (where applicable)
Evidence of English language ability if claiming additional points for having proficient English If you have provided a valid IELTS test result in the above requirements that has covered this requirment as well. IELTS test results
If claiming MODL points, provide evidence of recent closely related employment; and
evidence of having an eligible job offer (if applicable).

If your nominated occupation is on the Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL) either at the time your application is lodged or assessed and you have recent work experience related to that occupation, you can be awarded additional points.

The MODL has occupations from within the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) identified as being in demand in Australia. You will be eligible for a higher number of points if you also have a full time job offer from an employer in Australia.

You should be aware that occupations on the MODL change from time to time. More information is available on the MODL.

Note pointing out that your nominated occupation is on the MODL list.
Evidence of skilled employment in the four years prior to the date of application.

You will be awarded points if you have been employed for three (3) of the last four (4) years in an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL).

You must have been employed:

  • for at least 20 hours a week
  • in a paid position
  • at a skilled level in your nominated occupation or in a closely related occupation on the SOL.

Reference letters on company letterhead stating your title, the exact period of time you've worked, the role and responsibilities, whether the job was contract, full or part time, signed by a manager with reachable phone / fax numbers.

Please note that this information will be verified by the Australian department of immigration via the embassy.

Pay slips should also be included.

Evidence of partner skills.

You can claim 'partner skills' points if your spouse or interdependent partner is also able to satisfy the basic requirements of age, English language ability, qualifications, nominated occupation and recent work experience, and if they have obtained a suitable skills assessment from the relevant assessing authority. However you cannot claim 'partner skills' points if your spouse or interdependent partner is an Australian permanent resident or an Australian citizen or if they are not included in your visa application.

Partner will have to provide all documents just as the main applicant to recieve these bonus points.
Evidence of Australian qualification(s).

You can be awarded points for an Australian qualification if: you have completed an Australian qualification while present in Australia and if all instruction was given in English.

A certified copy of notification of your results or a transcript of your academic record.
Evidence of study and residence in a regional/low population growth metropolitan area. 'Regional Australia' or a 'low population growth metropolitan area' means anywhere in Australia except Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, the New South Wales Central Coast, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth, Melbourne or the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). You must provide documentary evidence that you have lived and studied in 'Regional Australia/ low population growth metropolitan areas'.
Evidence of recent Australian Work Experience or of completing a recognised Professional Year in Australia.

You are eligible to be awarded Australian work experience points if you have been employed in Australia:

  • in an occupation listd on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL)
  • while holding a visa that allows you to work
  • for at least 20 hours a week
  • in a paid position
  • at a skilled level in your nominated occupation or in a closely related occupation on the SOL
  • for a period(s) totalling at least one (1) year in the four (4) years immediately before the day you lodge your application

You can also be awarded these points if you have completed a recognised Professional Year in Australia.

Reference letters on company letterhead stating your title, the exact period of time you've worked, the role and responsibilities, whether the job was contract, full or part time, signed by a manager with reachable phone / fax numbers.

Evidence of fluency in Community Language

To be eligible for Australian community language points you must be fluent in one of the community languages listed below.

'Fluent' means you have professional level language skills (written or oral) as evidenced by a qualification (of equivalent standard to an Australian degree) gained from a university where instruction was in one of the listed languages

The easist way is to provide an official document from your university that study was in your original language.
Personal documents for all applicants
Certified copy of passport bio data page for all applicants. - Photocopies of all the filled pages of the applicants valid passport.
Certified copies of birth certificates or other evidence of age, showing names of both parents, for all persons in the application. - Self explanatory
If you or any applicants are married, please provide certified copies of marriage certificate(s) and evidence you are in a genuine and continuing relationship. - Self explanatory
If you or any applicants are in a de facto/interdependent relationship, independent evidence that you have been living in a genuine and continuing relationship for at least 12 months. Including secondary applicants in your application Self explanatory

Evidence of any change of name (eg deed poll certificate). If you have changed your name or your family name before Official document stating the change of name
Further Information
Health Medical examination results are only valid for a limited period of time. Therefore, you and any secondary applicants should not undertake medical examinations until requested to do so by the department. Once medical examinations are requested the Australian embassy will provide a list of accepted clinics that provide these tests, please note that you will not have access to the tests or their results, they will be sent directly to the embassy once they are completed.
Character To enter Australia, you and any secondary applicants must be of 'good character'. You are required to provide certified copies of police checks and military discharge papers as evidence of whether you can meet character requirements.(do not apply for police clearances until requested to do so). Police clearance certificates (known in Egypt as Feesh we Tashbeeh) once your medicals are requested obtain these and send them to the department of immigration.
