immigration question 5 Months, 1 Week ago
Dear sir:

I have a job offer for 3 years permanent as economist, and it is above 42000 dollar salary, and I have gained 3 years work experience in my nominated occupation in the last 4 years as (economist), this experience was gained in Jordan, I am 34.5 years old,

I have a 4 year bachelor degree in geography from Jordan and the teaching was conducted in Arabic language, I also have a master degree in economics from university of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (U.S graduate) which was conducted in English language, during my master course I gained 40 credits (13 course with 3 credits per course and 1 credit course). During my study I worked as instructor teaching 3 courses over 3 semesters(teaching undergraduate students economics courses in English language) each course I teached took from me 13 hours and 20 minutes of work weekly, so each semester I teached one course, over 3 semesters during my study at the university at master level.

I want to apply under ENS visa category (employer nomination scheme (subclass121/856))

I have read that under this ENS visa that 2 years full time study degree conducted in English language can be considered equivalent to vocational English level and can be a substitute to EILTS Exam. And vocational English level under ENS visa is accepted for most or all the jobs including economist job. Please check

,Page 16 under vocational English language requirement. Booklet 5 Employer Sponsored Migration

My questions are:

Q1: Is this correct that for economist job under ENS visa vocational English level is accepted?

Q2: according to what I mentioned above about my master degree is it equivalent to 2 years full time study? And therefore considered equal to vocational English language level under ENS visa category(considered a substitute for EILTS Exam?

Q3: is ENS visa considered a points assessment? And if so what is the minimum number of points that I have to score for ENS visa ( I want permanent visa not regional the job offer is in Sydney)?

Q4: ( I got 50 points for the master degree in economics, 25 points for age(34.5 years old), 15 points for vocational English requirement ( 2 years full time study conducted in English language), 5 points for work experience, 5 points for Arabic language( one of Australia community languages, gained a 4 years course conducted in Arabic language). My total is 100 points. Please correct me if I am wrong?

Q5: am I eligible for immigration under ENS visa (permanent visa not regional)?

Looking forward to hearing from you

Kind regards

Khalid,

Q1&2: In your Case you do need IELTS test, If your study was conducted in English Language. You just need to submit evidence showing that.

Q3: ANS is not subject to passmark and points calculations. This is a permanent visa. Your qualifications should be assessed by suitable assessing authority.

Q4: see Q3

Q5: See Q3

This visa allows you and any dependent family members included in your visa application to live as permanent residents in Australia.

Australian permanent residents can:

* live and work in Australia on a permanent basis
* study in Australia at school or university
* receive subsidized health care through Medicare and the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)
* access certain social security payments (subject to waiting periods)
* be eligible for Australian citizenship (subject to the residency eligibility criteria)
* sponsor people for permanent residence.
