I recently applied to ACS (Australian Computer Society) under the MODL category 2231-79 (Computing Professional C/C++). I had a thread in which I asked you if I am eligible to be considered for MODL points.

Today, I received a letter from ACS indicating

" You have been assessed as meeting the qualification requirements for Group A of ACS PIM2, but do not satisfy the requirements for relevant professional information technology experience of 4 years."

Your Work experience has been calculated as follows.
Dates : 06/02 - 06/03 (1 yr)
Position: Software Engineer
Employer: Intel Corporation

Date: 06/04 - 08/05 (9 months)
Position: Programmer - Part Time
My current employer

Dates: 09/07 - 09/08 (1 yrs)
Position: Software Engineer/lecturer
My current employer

" Your skills have been assessed to be unsuitable for migration under 2231-15 of the ASCO Code, being the skilled occupation indicated that you intend to nominate in a General Skilled Migration Application"

My experience is more than 6 yrs but I worked as different capacities like Software Test Engineer, Network Modeling and Simulation Engineer etc. but I don't have 4 years of Software Engineering experience.

Can you please help me in determining what went wrong? What is the criteria for applying under a category of MODL (C/C++)
I am under the impression that I need to have 12 months of experience.

Dear Hashir,

Thank you for calling me brother which i really like it.

Concerning your ACS assessment.
You need 4 years experience full time to be assessed in positive.
When we refer to ACS outcome we will find that in total experience you have been assessed to 2 Yrs and 9 Months by ACS, that means you need extra one year and 3 months to reach 4 years as software engineer whatever in (C/C++), Java, etc..

Note: MODL will be counted for your last 12 months
out of 4 years.

Dear Brother Fawdi,
Will the experience be exact as software Engineer or it can be software Test Engineer etc, since I worked as a software Test Engineer for IBM and was not fully involved as software development process.
