Will it be hard living away from home?
That depends on you, but I have to warn you that it will be tougher than you think, some people are able to focus on the task at hand while others are too sentimental and drop out as soon as they meet their first obstacle, I personally believe deeply in God and I kept telling myself that "If God brought me to it, he will bring me through it" and he has never failed me.
Will I feel lonely?
Absolutely, no matter how strong you are, it's ok to feel lonely and down and homesick at times, just try to remind yourself of the reasons you immigrated to Australia, perhaps money, or respect, or a fair chance to prove your worth or even for fame.
But isn't Australia the best country to live in now?
I cannot stress enough on the fact that Australia is not God's heaven on earth, there is some corruption and some rude people and some plain wrong things, and most likely you will be confronted with these things at one point or another during your life here.
Is there anything I can do to feel better?
Yes, don't stay alone, interact with others, from both your background (religious or ethnic or national) and Aussies, be careful not to be just part of one group, you might make some good friends from your background and miss out on the Australian culture or you can fully embrace the Australian way of life and totally forget your own values and where you're coming from.
Any wise words?
A good friend once told me this: "You can be whoever you want to be in Australia, but remember that if you become a good man, people won't applaud you, and if you become a bad man, people won't scorn you, so the choice is really up to you".
