What is the Aussie character?
Australians can be described as laid back, love a good laugh, enjoy a beer on a hot summer day, and always support the underdogs because being an underdog is almost the equivalent of being Australian. (The underdog attitude is like the weak team that wins the gold medal against all odds instead of the snobby world champion, I think this started when the country started as a huge jail for the filthiest of the filthiest English convicts, and later on the way they were used in the first world war under English generals and in world war two under the American allied command).
Financial attitude in Australia
In terms of financial matters I'd like to say that I've never bought anything without getting my change back, I know you're probably laughing at this comment or think it's very unimportant, but I just like to think that great nations are made of tiny everyday situations like this.
Will I be made fun of when I arrive to Australia?
Most Australians are very helpful and very friendly, it's extremely rare for Australians to make fun of other people's accents, I think they got used to all sorts of strange accents with all the immigration from many countries, however this does not mean that all Aussies are great, you might find some who can be disrespectful of you and your beliefs .. just if that happens don't let it dampen your spirit.
Australian national pride
Australians are also fiercely proud of their country, they love it with all their heart so whatever you do don't make fun of it .. too much :P
Life in Australia
