Australian airports
How many airports do you think Australia has? 5? 15? 50? WRONG
Australia has 455 airports :) just the famous ones are known such as Kingsford Smith in Sydney and Melbourne International in Melbourne, but that is only part of the truth.
History of Sydney Airport
Kingsford smith was actually named in honour of the first Australian aviator who flew the first trans-pacific flight from the United States to Australia in 1928, he later on repeated this and much more daring adventures, sadly he disappeared 1n 1933 but not before he opened the way for other Australian pilots to prove their worth.
Australian airlines
The biggest carriers nowadays are Qantas (which is the national carrier in Australia, also known as the "Flying Kangaroo" and folks, its pronounced: kwantas), Virgin Blue (which has several other smaller sister companies in finance and media as well as travel)and JetStar (which is partially owned by Qantas)
The latter two are domestic flights mostly while Qantas is the big sister that goes international.
Jetstar is known for its cheapest flights and Virgin Blue is known for good prices + absolutely superb customer service (with a bit of humor too)
Flying domestically doesn't require any proof of identity.
Tips for booking cheap flights
I would advise using a site like Flightcentre to book your flights, they usually can find out the cheapest flights both domestic and international, if you're thinking of going on a tour around Australia, or even just a short trip to Melbourne (costs around $55) I would suggest taking a flight; picture this, a train takes 13 hours from Sydney to Melbourne, while a plane takes it in less than an hour, however note that if you're taking Jetstar it won't land in Melbourne's main airport, they have an airport of their own on the outskirts of the city.
Now put on your seatbelts and enjoy the flight!
