Public rest rooms in Australia

Now this you might think is a very strange topic for anyone to talk about! But I think if you're planning on moving to this country for good, you should find out about even the tiniest details of every day life.

The government of Australia has roughly 20,000 public toilets that look like fruit kiosks in the streets, the ones in the capital cities are a lot more fancy than the ones in the bush,  periodical plumbing and cleaning maintenance is performed by sub contractors, the fancy ones have sliding electric doors once you press a button, they have areas for mothers to change their babies nappies, highly polished metal mirrors, water taps that are activated by motion sensors, and electric dryers.

The whole area is lighted in a deep blue light, i was told later on that this is to prevent drug addicts from taking shots in public toilets (the blue light prevents you from seeing your blood veins, smart!)

It goes without saying that practicing you-know-what anywhere other than a toilet is strictly prohibited in Australia and many new comers from over seas are heavily fined for it.
