Seniors are well looked after in Australia and they get plenty of benefits from the government. They get discounts on transport, certain restaurants and most bills.

Entertainment for Australian seniors

Australian's seniors have their own clubs where they get together to have fun and enjoy their day. They also get to form sport teams and compete against each other.

Pensioner Concession Card

The card entitles citizens to reduced cost medicines under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).

As well as this, seniors may also be entitled to extra concessions from state and local government authorities. Concessions from state and local government authorities may include:

* reductions in property and water rates
* reductions in energy bills
* a telephone allowance
* reduced fares on public transport
* reductions on motor vehicle registration
* one or more free rail journeys within the state each year.
