Acceptable and unacceptable behavior in Australia

Australia is a new culture, new country, we accept many things, tolerate others but some are outright unacceptable

A few examples would be to ask ladies their age, asking colleagues how much they earn(unless they tell you) intimidating others and asking others about their religious beliefs.

In Australia we believe in everybody's freedom and racist, sexist or religious discrimination is not tolerated at all in any place, in fact even a comment can get you in trouble with the law if it is deemed offensive by others so be very careful with what you say.

Driving behavior in Australia

Other dangerous habits that are unacceptable and could cause problems with the police are driving related, car horns are almost never heard in Australia, (very offensive when a driver horns at another) or breaking traffic lights etc.

Some behavior is completely out of the question as urinating in public (even children), swimming with clothes on and so on.

Behavior slowly getting accepted in Australia

Other behavior is starting to get slowly accepted in Australia but is not recommended such as hugging and kissing between men (it is customary to handshake other men and kiss a lady on one cheek only).

Good luck!
