Equal opportunities for Australian women

Australian women are –technically- equal to men in many ways, of course under the law and in general treatment; there is no segregation between men and women (in other words no there isn't a designated women's-only-carriage in the trains!).

Treatment of Australian women

Under the Australian law men are not allowed to beat their wives or girlfriends yet due to cultural backgrounds this sometimes happens, however the police deal with these domestic fights efficiently and offenders are punished by heavy penalties and sometimes imprisonment.

Are women truly equal to their male counterparts in Australia?

Yet equality is still not 100% in Australia, I believe it could be better, the government watchdog proves that women rarely take the top positions in the top 500 Australian companies and they are paid in average less than their male counterparts.

Did Aussie women always have the same rights?

Over 100 years ago women in Australia had very few rights, and they had to fight for the right to vote and he right to work and the right to be involved in Australian politics.

Examples of successful Australian women

Australian women have proven their worth around the world and some of the most famous actresses and singers are 100% Aussie like Kylie Mynogue and Nicole Kidman.
